1). What is your full name and Team Name?

My Name is Zafiro Burke.  The team name is Tigers.

2). Why did you pick that team name?

The name was a team choice and it fit perfectly because our kids are just like tigers.  They look humble and nice but when we step on the field there is nothing that can stop them.

3). Who would you compare your coaching style to and why?

I really do not have a coach figure to compare myself too.  I have played sports since I was 6 years old.  I had 4 to 5 different coaches growing up but no one had a large impact on me that I could say, “Wow, I love this coach!”  This is one of things that I intend to change in my coaching time with my kids every practice.  I put myself in their position and always remember that they are kids ready to have fun while learning the fundamental skills of the game.  I feel I am a motivational coach.  To me motivation is everything and you must be full of positive energy and always try to take this to the next level.

4). Why did you become a coach?

I became a coach because of my kids.  My daughter asked me to be her coach because she did not like the way her coach was approaching her or her team mates verbally.  This was enough for me to take action to be there for my daughter.

5). What kind of player do you look for?

The kind of player that I look for shows up to every practice and tries their best.  Even if they are a skilled player or not just being at practice and trying their best is important.  I also look for a team player that listens and pay attention and takes it seriously.

6). What have you accomplished as a coach?

I feel I have accomplished a lot as a coach.  Just to have a group of kids that love to be around each other and the strong ties that are made between the kids is very positive for me.  I will do anything for my team.

7). Where do you want your player to be 4 years from now, 10 years from now?

Over all the sky is the limit for them.  The road ahead is long and full of choices.  Right now my job is to direct them in a positive manner and this will help them focus on their future as well.  I believe with passion that every member of my Tiger team will be success full academically, in sports, and in life.  I pray every day God will bless them all.
